Among the 17 SDGs announced by the United Nations, Taipei City has given priority to 7 of them and released our SDG Voluntary Local Review (VLR) in 2019 by reviewing the City's current development. Through conducting periodic reviews of self-examinations, Taipei City strives to implement the sustainable development goals by 2030.
This year, Taipei City continues to enhance our sustainable actions in addressing the 11 SDGs, including SDG 3, Good Health and Well-Being; SDG 4, Quality Education; SDG 5, Gender Equality; SDG 6, Clean Water and Sanitation; SDG 7, Affordable and Clean Energy; SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 9, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production; SDG 13, Climate Action; SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals.
In addition, Taipei City has highlighted the linkage between our preventive actions against COVID-19 and SDGs by adding pandemic response measures into our review. Through developing a rolling review, Taipei City examines the City’s governance strategies and shares achievements toward sustainability, thus publishing the 2020 Taipei City VLR.
Taipei City VLR is also published on the "IGES(Institute for Global Environmental Strategies) VLR Lab"website online.
